Functions useful for practicing instruments

Overdubbing function to record on top of existing recordings

Existing recorded data can be overdubbed. For private enjoyment, you can even use sources such as music CDs to make an original recording in which you perform together with pro musicians. This is also a useful feature for karaoke-type uses, for adding sound effects such as the bustle of the city, train sounds or bird calls, and for adding subtle arrangements on top of existing data to make something original.

Tuner function to tune your musical instrument

You can use the recorder's chromatic tuner function to tune musical instruments. The difference between the input sound and reference tone is displayed in a visual manner. To use this function, simply turn the mode dial to the tuner position.

  • Normal tuner screen
Marks indicate the major/minor third intervals in just intonation.
  • Waveform tuner screen
This is effective for practicing holding long tones with a trumpet or other wind instrument as it allows you to visually see changes in pitch.

Metronome function that can be used as a rhythm guide during recording

LEDs flash to visually display the tempo

There is a metronome function that can be used as a rhythm guide during recording. In addition to sound, you are notified of the rhythm visually by flashing LEDs.

Trimming function to remove unnecessary parts at the beginning and end of recordings

This function allows you to remove unnecessary parts at the beginning and end of recordings. You can remove the unnecessary parts by simply setting the starting point and ending point of the part you require.

  • Compatible with PCM (WAV) only.
