Field Sensor System
Using the TG-Tracker's variety of built-in field sensors, the user’s outdoor experience is captured in its entirety.
The longitude and latitude are calculated from GPS, Glonass, and QZSS satellite signals. You can updatethe GPS assist data to make high-speed positioning possible.
The barometer provides information for calculating the altitude and depth of water.
The sensor is designed so that it is not affected by the internal temperature of the camera when reading field temperature or water temperature.

The camera detects which direction the lens is pointed.
This acceleration sensor captures the camera's movement in the field along 3 axes.
Display acquired field data along with your images on your smartphone
The field data and images captured by the TG-Tracker can be transferred to a smartphone and displayed simultaneously to relive the achievement and excitement of the moment.
- The Olympus Image Track smartphone app is required for data transfer and display.
- Recording in 30P is recommended for smooth playback on a smartphone.
You can display chronological changes in altitude (or water depth) and the position information as well as recorded images on a single smartphone screen

You can view a variety of field data on the camera's LCD display. In addition to information such as shooting direction, altitude, and water depth, you can also display temperature and barometer.
Automatic chapter creation at points of dynamic movement
The TG-Tracker can automatically create chapters at points where a set level of gravitational acceleration is experienced.
This makes exciting scenes easy to find during playback.
- A chapter can be manually inserted by pressing the OK button on the top of the camera.
- A chapter inserted on the camera cannot be transferred to the smartphone app (Olympus Image Tracker).
- A chapter is a bookmark inserted in a place where a movie scene shifts. This lets you quickly select the exact spot you want during playback.
- Because the GPS and other field sensors are not intended for use as strictly accurate measurement functions, under no circumstances are measured values (such as: longitude and latitude, shooting direction, temperature) guaranteed. Additionally, information may differ from actual circumstances due to effects of events such as natural disasters.
- To use GPS Assist data, information must be updated via the internet. A PC or smartphone with an internet connection is required. GPS assist data must be updated every 2 weeks.
- Depending on the country/region of use, different laws and regulations may be applicable regarding the use of the GPS function. Be sure to follow local laws and regulations.
- Be sure to turn off the GPS function in places where its use is forbidden or restricted, such as inside airplanes.
- While Log Mode is being used, the GPS function is active and draws power from the battery even when the camera is turned off.
- The camera is not equipped with a navigation function.
- GPS is a positioning measurement system that uses signals received from orbiting satellites. For better reception, avoid locations where signals can be blocked or reflected. Use the camera in as open location as possible where the sky is clearly visible.
- It may not be possible to obtain positioning information, or positioning information may be incorrect in the following locations. Indoors, underground or underwater, in forests, near tall buildings, near high-voltage lines, inside tunnels, near magnets, metal, or electronic appliances, near mobile phones that operate in the 1.5 GHz band.
- The shooting direction sensor may not point to the correct direction in the following places. Indoors, near high-voltage lines (such as on train station platforms), near magnets or metal, near household appliances.
