Thanks to the higher refractive factor and much improved aberration correction made possible by DSA (Dual Super Aspherical) lens element, we were able to incorporate a powerful 5X optical zoom in the µ[mju:] 780's slim, compact body. Dramatically expanding the shooting possibilities available with a compact digital camera, the µ[mju:] 780's zoom power can be extended to 28X in conjunction with the 5.6X digital zoom.
The CCD-shift image stabiliser automatically compensates for camera shake by shifting the CCD in the direction opposite to the shake, while higher ISO settings (up to1600) and a higher shutter speed mitigate the image blur caused by camera shake, subject movement, or use of the 5X zoom.
Olympus's highly sophisticated Shadow Adjustment Technology detects the brightness in different parts of the subject and adjusts the exposure appropriately to compensate for darkening of faces due to backlight. Bright Capture Technology ensures images on the LCD monitor are clear and easy to see, even at night or in dim interiors
A high-precision 7.1-megapixel CCD captures the most exquisite details of life, while the newly developed TruePic III image processor further enhances image quality with sharper edges and reduced noise, especially in high-sensitivity shooting modes.
The 2.5-inch, 230,000-pixel HyperCrystal LCD offers a wide angle of view as well as higher visibility even under sunlight. For easy operation even in the dark, the large operation buttons can be illuminated at any time simply by tapping one of the buttons.
