Slow Sync

One of the many reasons why night photography is tricky: with the shutter speed used with a general flash speed of 1/60 second, the proportion of ambient light is so low that it does not play a role in the final image. If the exposure time is extended with Slow Sync, the ambient light is perceived in the final image, so the image looks more natural. It's the same effect as using Night & Portrait in Scene mode. The flash's range is limited only by the intensity and is not affected by the exposure time.
